I have downloaded the Mozilla browser and am considering moving to it from NS6.2. However, I have some simple questions on IMAP mail servers (not having had the ability to set up more than one mail server in earlier NS versions, I am trying this with Mozilla as I have with NS6.2)
I am testing Mozilla 0.9.9 on a Win2K machine that already runs Netscape 6.2. I notice that Mozilla uses essentially the same same files in the Application Data/Mozilla folder for mail and news as NS6.2. My Mozilla installation which was done after NS 6.2 shares these files with NS 6.2. Does IMAP set-up work differently from POP3 servers in that I am not able to connect to IMAP with Mozilla when I use the same IMAP server settings as in NS6.2 while NS6.2 connects without problem? The POP server settings seem to work with no problems in both NS6.2 Mozilla but Mozilla fails to connect to the IMAP server but does with NS 6.2! Somehow Mozilla always fails to connect to the IMAP server. Could it be the IMAP server refuses to allow Mozilla to connect because it is not NS 6.2? Any analysis or suggestions would be welcome! Thanks in advance Sam
