Yes, it /will/ be recreated.

What build are you using?  Are you using a third-party theme (there have 
been enough changes on the trunk since 1.0.0 was released that you're 
beginning to see some problems with 'em)?  If so, switch back to one of the 
default themes and see what happens with that. -- In fact, I just tried with 
the theme I was using (Orbit 3m) and got precisely that blank screen (with 
20020728), so switching to one of the defaults /should/ take care of the 
problem.
