I had same problem, but it was resolved when I downloaded and installed 
a new theme.

I was using the shitty original netscape one (why is that piece of crap 
still being bundled with the default download - it was crap 4 years ago 
and it's still crap now)

Try changing the theme (I'm not using orbit- which rox) and trying again.
