I've been having the same problem. It was driving me nuts until I finally remembered to check my hosts file. Yep, sure enough. There was an outdated server address I had added at one time to force NS to recognize the server. I commented it out and now the connection works fine. Have you customized your hosts file with something that might be blocking the server?
