Jay, I've seen the same behavior in all versions of Moz/Netscape since *way* back. In fact, after just setting up 1.1 (final) in a new directory with new profile, I'm seeing it again with some news servers. It seems that for some reason, once Moz/NS is satisfied that it has a username/pw associated with *each newsgroup*, it leaves you alone. Also, I'm guessing it may be behavior on the server end that prompts it. Some kind of time-out value or something. Now, it may be that there's nothing in the prefs.js or password manager to back-up what I see, but it's certainly happened to me for a long time. Can you send me *your* version? Oh, and your "special" hardware too? :) Mark -- e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ** Been there, Done that, Got the T-Shirt and Coffee Cup.
