I did try the "-newprofile" option now, but it didn't help. I notice
that the CPU monitor jumped to 100% when it stopped. I can move the
mouse cursor, but except from that the least dramatic way to get
response is two times Ctrl-Del-Numlock.
No, I am not using xcenter.
