Well, middle-button opens link in a new tab, so it somewhat makes sense 
that middle-button on the tab will close the tab. (At least to me).

Chording is just a work-around for mice that don't have middle button, I 
think. Closing a window with chording doesn't really make sense, not 
when you have a close button, but for a tab, maybe ok.

The only place I find chording useful is on Thinkpads, where the 3rd 
button can be configured for 3rd button OR scrolling. If you want to 
scroll, you need chording.


But, I vote for KEEP THE CUT 'N PASTE!
