Yeah. It was nice to read thru the format-argue that you had. It only took
90 minutes to do that. Apparently debates like pc vs. mac and vinyl vs. cd
raise quite a lot of feelings among us. I bought sl1200II last winter, and I
must say i've been quite pleased with it. The reason to buy it was that I
couldn't get house/techno singles on cd. One good thing about vinyl is that
"normal" people don't use it anymore, so 2nd hand vinyls can be found at an
affordable price. For example Inner City's (kevin saunderson) "Fire" LP 5,-,
and "Big fun" 12" 2,- . Not a bad price even if the music wouldn't be great.
For djaying vinyl is, at the moment, the best format. I'm sure this will
change in the future, but until then it's better to use wax. I suppose that
even japi with his "no technology older than 10 yrs" point of view has to
admit that 1200s _are_ better for mixing than anything else with same (or
even much higher) price tag on it.

And about reloop decks. Do they have tonearm height adjustment, and what
kind of starting torque compared to 1200s? I haven't seen those new models,
but cheap 1200 clones tend to skip and have really lame pitch adjustments,
often with 2 zero points and stuff like that. And please, don't tell me to
go to Mind and test em, since I don't live anywhere near Turku.
