I've toyed with the idea of an mp3 stream analyzer for ages.
Never got around to it. I was sort of thinking of doing what jan had
done: hack out the insides of amp or something, so that there is output to
another file, or real time output to screen.
The idea of a GUI is a good one, but we're sort of looking at
cross platform tools here, so either make the GUI component an easily
adaptable part of the source, or make the analyzer text/file based only,
and have platform specific display tools. I'd go with the latter case;
but that's only because I couldn't program a gui to save my life and I'd
just scroll through the text output :)
Too busy to do any work on mp3 in the near future.
