[MP3 ENCODER] pow() calls. ISO vs 8hz

Still looking at what the 8hz guys did to the ISO code...

How come the ISO code has about 4 times as many calls to pow()?
iso  has 22 seconds worth of pow() for a 40sec file
8hz has about 4seconds.
