Ahh. That sounds sort of familiar.  All I know of sampling theory I got
from looking over the shoulder of a housemate in 1992 who was studying
electrical engineering :)
It was only meant to be a quick hack anyway, and I'm glad someone has the
expertise to do it properly.

Just had a quick look at sox's resampling routines.  Lots of stuff I don't
understand in there :)
