Hey Chris, Yeah... m3u files and a few other playlist file types too. But I was at a website the other day that claimed to stream files ending in the .mp3 extension. I can't remember which site it was, but there's one I found in a random Goggle search:
http://217.160.40.20/us/pages/index.php3?exec=detailview&articleid=19484 I get the IE popup with the choices of downloading or opening from current position, and the latter is grayed out. But if I right click on the link to the MP3, copy the URL, and then paste it intp WinAmp's Play > Location ... the .mp3 file will play fine: http://217.160.40.20/us/pages/media/ram/19484-a1.mp3 Same thing if I go to another page on that site, and swipe a URL from the source code for an MP3 set up there to play via javascript, and then paste to WinAmp, the .mp3 file will play fine: http://217.160.43.198/mixes/b-funk.mp3 I wonder if it has something to do with the exact type of MP3, info in its tag, or something else. I'll see if I can find a link directly to an MP3 that IE will let me open from the location. But I have a feeling this is an IE setup issue.
