I've got it running! I called insmod from the
directory
/usr/src/kfir/driver/
so there clearly was a subdirectory /usr/src/kfir/driver/micro with the
microcode (altera_keb_plx_5e.rbf) in it. Still the machine crashed on
insmod. The trick that made it working on my machine was to copy the
microcode to
/lib/kfir/

P.S. The card seems to work fine even MPEG-1 is no problem. Anybody tried
something like:
cat /dev/video | mtv -
with MPEG-1?
