You don't have to switch. Just use it for this one thing. And you would more than likely get better optimization over gcc anyway.

Well, let's say I've always been using MinGW/gcc to compile my C programs, and I don't really want to switch to Visual Studio. -- I tried to configure+make it again with ABI=32, but make fails because of some strange errors, so I switched back to the 32bits MinGW I have (gcc.exe (GCC) 4.7.0).
