describes how Joe Biernat went against the administrative law hearing
procedure, written by the city attorney, to ask the police to lobby council
members against the Hard Times Cafe.
The article in Pulse also says that Biernat forwarded email messages from
cafe supporters (some including addresses) to the Minneapolis police. I
just found out tonight that my email messages were among those forwarded.
On a positive note (and it's tough to drag a positive note out of this),
the information in Pulse gave me a better appreciation of the council
members who declined to vote for closing the cafe (Ostrow, Niland,
MacDonald, Goodman, Lane). Ostrow in particular, but all of them, must
have been under extreme pressure to vote against the cafe. Thanks to all
of them.
