I'm going to have to use up both my posts for today:
First, this message from Russ really interested me because I got the
same polling call. They didn't ID themselves as working for Sharon, they
said a name like "Decision Research Associates" or something. I'm deaf
the right ear so - of course I start all phone calls off in that ear.
The caller listed seven issues and asked "Which of these seven option
are the two most important issues the Mayor of Minneapolis should be
concerned with?" I did not get an "Other" option, instead, I got
"Airport Noise." Since, none of these are at the top of my list I
declined to choose any, although I thought about saying "The
environment," which was how it was presented to me, because that could
mean the economic or social environment.

I said I would attend the convention in May
Then came this really interesting part. I got the four choices, but they
said it like this:
R.T. Ryback
Sharon Sayles Belton
Michelle McDonald
Mark Stenglein
I asked for the choices to be repeated and the pollster read them
exactly the same. I said wouldn't be supporting any those candidate in
May because I have not decided yet who to support between R.T. and Lisa.

Please help me understand because I'm young and naive. Why would a
pollster deliberately misidentify a candidate's name like they're doing
with Lisa? Anyone with experience fill me in, off list if it unrelated
to Minneapolis Issues and strictly a campaign trick.
