Wade Russell suggests:

This is not the first time Wade has made this complaint. Unfortunately, his
interpretation is not one that exists in our rules
(http://www.e-democracy.org/mpls).
Simply put, the rules prohibit discussion of matters not unique, or
particular to Minneapolis. Additionally, our preamble states that the list's
purpose involves matters that should be considered by official bodies and
civic organizations. To be sure, there are many business "ads" that fall
outside this scope, but commentary about the Minneapolis political system is
clearly appropriate. Whether one gets paid for it, or not, is immaterial.
The important thing is that the subject falls within our purpose, as these
pieces clearly do.
One other note: we have had a flurry of posts lately questioning members'
right to participate. This wastes members' time and distracts from the
list's mission to fully inform members about Minneapolis civic life. What's
more, this IS clearly prohibited by list rules: "3. Complaints about a list
member's behavior should be directed to the list member and the list owner:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] These complaints should not be posted to the list."
If you feel I can't fairly rule on myself - a reasonable proposition - I'm
happy to connect you with my board members so you can appeal to them.
However, the circumstance Wade references has been reviewed in the past and
found proper. All of us wear two hats, as members and participants in the
community...even the list manager.
