Re Wade Russell's complaint about Brauer, the SW Journal and the list:
Yes, newspapers are profit-making businesses. For shame! But one
reason they exist, besides making a profit, is that they're a medium
for exchanging ideas. That's why they're the only business sector
given some constitutional protection.
I think Mr. Brauer does an even-handed job of posting links to a
variety of news web sites, in the spirit of stimulating discussion on
Minneapolis issues.
Re Linda Picone's post: Because of my technical backwardness, I don't
think I've ever successfully posted a link to the Star Tribune's web
site on this list. Instead, I copied and pasted full texts of
articles in response to inquiries about topics on which the paper had
previously written. I've been told by the powers that be here that I
can't do that anymore. Something about copyrights and brand
identification. So I guess I'll have to learn links.
