The criticism of A City for Neighbors seems far more politically skewed
than the object of the criticism. Its pamphlet appears to be the
product of thorough research and explanation of votes and issues that
are consistent with its stated agenda. That is a valuable service to
those who are concerned about those issues.
The critics would do better to address the substantive merits of the
pamphlet. If the reporting of votes are inaccurate, that should be
exposed. If the votes were selectively chosen in a manner that misleads
readers about council member's positions, it is really important for
someone to provide information about the other votes. Another approach
that would contribute to substantive debate would be to attempt to
justify (ie rationalize) "The Big Money Agenda" - corporate welfare,
anti-environment, a system that allows monied interests to control the
political process. In the absence of any substantive criticism, one can
only conclude that the critics of the information want to obscure the
truth.
