Nicollet Hardware at Nicollet and 38th is usually pretty good - especially
since their expansion a couple of years ago. 4th Avenue that moved to
about Nicollet an 18th used to be pretty good - probably still are good.

I mourn the loss of Lyndale Hardware.

A good hardware store NOT in Minneapolis is Beisswingers just off of 35W
and North of 694 - kind of hidden - in New Brighton. Its on old Highway 8
I think. They have a good selection of faucet handles and stuff.

It is very hard for them to compete against Home Despot (My personal
spelling for that store chain). I still have to go to there for the 4x8
chunks of 3/4" CDX.
