Eva asks how my resolution to hold city election year delegate selection is doing:
The resolution took it on the chin in the 9th, and didn't come up for a vote in the
12th or 11th. What I learned is that I need more time to make the case - those who are
opposed know right away, but those who are open to it need to hear more detail. With
the three conventions going one ballot, there isn't enough time.
I'm reassesing strategy toward the city convention, where this thing really has to
pass. The good news is that several Mpls legislators, council members, and candidates
have offered support, as have a couple of experienced strategists. So I'm a bit
bloodied, wiser, and still optimistic.
