Council Member McDonald claims the city has been 'rudderless' under the
current administration. In as much time as she's held office she could have
picked up an oar and started paddling, yet she refuses to take
responsibility for her own involvement in the process. As a member of the
Board of the MCDA, she blasts the organization as if they're tossing money
into the air and setting fire to it. She claims internal politics sway the
agency's activity but in reality, it's the other way around.
I've been witness to many a council member pushing a pet project through the
process simply because it's a friend, or a neighbor, or a neighborhood group
that wants the project done - at any cost.
The very policies the council members toil over and massage ad nauseum, and
then are cast in stone, are overridden whenever and wherever they see fit.
Until that changes, as a registered voter, no candidate in this city who
takes that tack will ever get a dime or the time, from me.
