A more important question than how much money is spent on the park
system is what are we getting for our money.  Ms. Becker would make more
of a contribution if she could share any information she has that any of
this money is being wasted, rather than superficial rhetoric and
statistics to advance an anti-environmental, pro-corporate machine
politics agenda.  


Response:  I'm not sure that's a fair statement to make.  I think her
information has been extremely helpful.  Some of us don't have such biased
opinions and it's helpful to get information such as Ms. Becker has supplied.
 Personally, I'm beginning to think there's a real benefit to taxpayers to
have more services combined.  I'm sure there's a way to protect the integrity
of the park system and still find some economies in services.
