I thought the original message focused on one person being authorized to do
all the work. I was concerned that people know there is a procedure
established by law (City Charter) to do the work and that is a diverse
committee that will put forth the plan. My recollection of 1990 was there
were Republicans and Democrats on the committee. It is my understanding
that at least three parties will represented on the committee for this next
redistricting effort.
