That's Lilligren, Megan. Robert Lilligren lost at the 8th ward DFL
convention. Council Member Brian Herron (who didn't even mention
Stonewall's endorsement at the Ward convention) won with 52 votes. Our
ward deserves to have more of a chance than that, when considering
candidates. That's why Robert is running in the primary.
Brian Herron is a nice enough guy, but he's not a hard worker. It's an
ongoing complaint I hear, that he doesn't return phone calls to
constituents. He's a reliable vote for stuff like the Padilla Spears
boondoggle. Robert Lilligren will be an independent voice for the
neighborhood. Robert has been working his tail off on this campaign.
Matthea Little Smith mentioned Brian Herron's work on behalf of the African
American Gay community. I would like to hear more specifics about that.

The poll that matters is the one at election time.
Something worth noting: Barb Lickness regularly posts on this list, and
has a long history of activism within Whittier. I would like to know what
endorsed candidate Dean Kallenbach has actually done. After the mayor's
debate, Dean approached my friend Karen Forbes, and mentioned that he was
concerned about posting here, because of something I would say or do. I
think that's rather odd, that he didn't come to talk with me about this, if
he was concerned. I've never met Kallenbach. The concern I have is that
it seems that most of what I've seen of Kallenbach has been Rick Stafford
posting on this list on Kallebanch's behalf, or Rick Stafford speaking on
Kallenbach's behalf during the insight forum (covered in the Insight
newspaper). I'd like to echo Terry Erickson's challenge to Dean
Kallenbach: join in this forum, and let the noble freethinkers over here
know who you are, and why you are running.
I do have the bias of having much more respect for candidates who are
willing to post on Minneapolis Issues over those who don't.
