I traded emails with Lou Gelfand, the readers rep for
the Strib and they are going to run a correction on
this article either in his column or in the correction
box on A2.
I pointed out that the article doesnt make clear that
Jo was an ELECTED member of the Board of Estimate and
Taxation and, in fact, implies that this was a
volunteer position by putting it in the same paragraph
as her volunteer work in Marcy-Holmes and by saying
that she "sat on the Board". She certainly deserves to
get her props for being elected to citywide office,
particularly in an article on how she is going to
manage a citywide race.
