I was impressed that the Cultural Affairs person didn't try
to shuck and jive.  She made a mistake--a big one--and was
straight up abut it.  Good on her.
At the same time, I lose all sense of proportion when adults
make promises to children that cannot be kept--even though
it's accidental.
It's a little early to call for folding the office down.
