Call your Representative and Senator in the next two hours to help save NRP. Noon Monday June 25th, Action Alert from the Minneapolis Center for Neighborhoods, 612-339-3480 The Tax Working Group will begin working on the Tax Bill again today, Monday June 25th at 2:30pm. They will be finishing up work on the tax bill so It can go to a vote on Wednesday.   Over the weekend a small group developed language on Tax Increment Financing for the Tax Bill that provides no money for NRP. They propose limiting the use of the TIF Grant Fund to Debt Service only.   As the Senate Chair of the Tax Committee, Sen. Larry Pogemiller can advocate for the broader Senate Language, that would provide funding for NRP by allow the TIF Grant Fund to be used by Cities for other activities in addition to debt service including, NRP, brownfield cleanup, affordable housing etc.   CALL your State Senators and Representatives, have them call or visit Senator Larry Pogemiller, to support the broader Senate language so that cities can use the TIF Grant Fund for broader community revitalization activities.
