... and it wasn't Sharon who placed it on the table! We
already know of Mr. Stenglein's unusual concern about African
American men. We know Lisa talks up the shiny Yuptown end of her ward
and ignores the more colorful east side. And it's painfully obvious
that both these campaigns and RT's are quite lacking in any color but
white.

Today we have a former U.S. Attorney charging the campaign of
the only major candidate of color for mayor with... misuse of the
word "endorsement"! I did not realize such possible grammatical
errors were chargeable offenses. But I suppose the rules are
different for the campaign of an African American sitting Mayor.

It's getting ugly on the campaign trail. This afternoon when
I stopped to correct an upside down SSB sign on the west bank I was
accosted by a middle aged white guy, old hippie type. He shouted at
me all his grievances against Sharon. In answer to my inquiry (when
he finally let me get a word in) he said he was supporting RT. I told
him I kinda liked RT and he was my second choice, but he would not be
satisfied. Seeing the discussion going nowhere, I bid him good day
and walked over to fix the sign. He followed me, shouting that "the
reason that it's upside down is because "THOSE PEOPLE" that put it up
probably can't read. I told him that his remark sounded racist. He
then got in my face and blocked my retreat. I told him to quit
following me, and glancing at the Somali men nearby that were
watching he backed off and I quickly left the scene.

This bigot did not appear to be in any way connected to RT's
campaign. Neither have I heard any encouragement of racism from RT or
Lisa. But the fact remains that Sharon is going to lose thousands of
votes for one reason- the color of her skin.
