Mpls. Issues folks--
Thought you might like to know when the Mpls. DFL
plans to meet next to consider endorsement where we
haven't yet.

Only Central Committee members can vote on the issues
of endorsement but the meeting is open to the public.
I'm not sure whether non-members can speak on the
issue of endorsement (Brian Melendez, will you post an
answer to that?), but it will certainly be an
interesting meeting to attend.

The Central Committee will meet on Thursday the
thirteenth at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium, Hennepin
County Government Center, 300 South Sixth Street,
Minneapolis.

I, for one, would be very interested in knowing what
the 2500 (+/-) delegates and alternates to the
Minneapolis DFL conventions think about the issue of
endorsement by the Central Committee. For my own part,
I think the delegates spoke when they chose to adjourn
a convention without endorsing. It seems to me a
disservice to the delegates for the Mpls DFL Central
Committee to bestow an endorsement on anyone.

I do think, in the case of the 8th ward, where the
delegates haven't been given an opportunity to chose a
candidate who's actually running, it's a different
case. (Personally, I'm hoping only 1 person with a DFL
affiliation comes through so I don't have to plan
another 8th ward convention. But, that's just me being
selfish and I'll do what's needed.)
