The big deal is that candidates must compromise their views to those
of the party. And, once an endorsement is given and a candidate
elected they have incurred a debt to the DFL.  This might be a minor
problem if the DFL actually knew how to run the city effectively, but
sadly they don't.  Thus, the endorsement process perpetuates mediocrity
and limits the implementation of creative solutions to the city's problems.
