While Steve's story is quite interesting (I love that old history stuff) I
think Arthur's question still remains unanswered. I have always worked for
candidate's who seem to spend lots of time Registering Voters then to only
turn around and find out they didn't get to the polls. And this year with
many new immigrants voting and many who don't understand the difference
between the Primary and the General and that they have to go vote twice.
Giving people rides still is probably the best way but when 3-500 people
are newly registered in a ward this becomes very problematic.
Any other ideas would be helpful,
