[Gehring, Amy F] Your post has really disturbed me. As someone who has just
moved back from NYC, NY is not lucky to have a man like Guiliani, they
recognize their need for him and have elected him. No one is surprised by
the efforts he is taking now. But as Minneapolis is a completely different
city with completely different needs, we are free to elect the mayor who
works best for us. If by following your logic, our new mayor is to convince
us everyday could be our last and plan for that, well there is a difference
with being concerned and being obsessed with future events that may or may
not happen. Plane crashes did happen before this, and there was a chance
that a malfunctioning plane taking off or landing could've plowed into
downtown or a neighborhood. It could still happen. Should we be running
drills until this happens? Also, while the new events are only a week old,
we should remember Americans endured for years of W.W.II, Europeans endured
a lot longer than that. They have survived. We will get through this.
