The issue in the DFL endorsement is not a choice between a DFL candidate and a Green
Party candidate. It is does the DFL want as full a ticket as possible in the 2nd ward.
My answer is "Yes!" Green Party voices should be irrelevant and absent in this
process.
My favorite DFL machine story is from many years ago, when a bunch of us put a
campaign together to elect a new school board (largely successful, with 3 out of 4
winning and the 4th winning in the next election). As we were working all night on a
city wide mailing one of the local state senators said: If this is a machine, why do
we have to do so much awful work?
