Now, I was getting a bit tired of squirrel talk myself - what started as
city nature sightings was rapidly becoming "general squirrel control
talk." Let's just say the thread was rapidly becoming
non-Minneapolis-specific.

And I know Jordan is kidding a bit here (I think).

However, I do want to remind list members of a couple of things, as we
try to restore the list's tone of respectful discussion.

1. The list is not just about politics. If it was, we would have called
it Minneapolis-Politics. The "Issues" connotation is meant to allow all
manner of city-specific issues...including Minneapolis nature,
Minneapolis culture, etc.

2. The list is definitely not just about arguments...it's only seemed so
lately. I only bring this up because we've had even more arguments than
squirrel posts lately.

3. If you want the list discussions to change, don't tell people to shut
up - please start a new thread! (I'm here if the thread you don't like
violates the rules.) In his post, Jordan mentioned all the other issues
out there to be discussed. Well, bring them up! If they're interesting,
people will discuss them, and the older thread will die.

Remember, the thing that really turns your crank probably bores some
other list member. However, we strive to be a place for many discussions
among many people.
