I'm happy to say that I went to all unions representing those who work at
City Hall asking simply for their endorsement.  I aked for no money or help.

My statement was that I have been a manager in the private sector, and the
head of my union's worker participation committee.  I came out of both
experiences with a strong feeling that the workforce needs to be involved to
truly reform a system.

No "deals" on who will run the departments.  No "deals" on help in the
campaign.  A couple members of the unions that endorsed the Mayor before I
met with them tried to keep the city workers from supporting me, but that
pressure doesn't seem to be working.

I'm very proud of the fact that those who work day to day inside a divided
City Hall support my call for a change.
