The idea of multiple co-ops located on the periphery of downtown appeals
to me. I like to shop that the Wedge co-op, but I often find it
inconvenient to shop there because of its location and my location. I
would prefer to shop closer to home, but I am dissatisfied with the
quality of customer service and products at the nearby grocery stores. I
often find myself driving to the Byerly's in Roseville or Golden Valley
because I find the commute to either of those two stores to be easier
than the commute to the Wedge and I find the customer service and
products at Byerly's to be satisfactory.

I believe that having multiple co-ops located on the periphery of
downtown would be more convenient than one Lund's store. The thought of
driving through downtown to a grocery store does not appeal to me, but
maybe it would not be as much of a concern for the downtown residents.

I think a co-op could survive in northeast Minneapolis if it was located
near the Hennepin-Central-University triangle. There are new townhomes
going up near there and it close to downtown, being a short drive across
the Hennepin Ave bridge or the Central Ave bridge. Plus, that area is
served by a fair number of bus routes. I suspect that parking may not be
such an issue if a co-op was located in this area, as there are a few
surface lots and a ramp nearby.
