To Palmer, Eva Young and others that have continually shown their
displeasure with candidate Kallenbach, I only say you have made your
decision. No amount of explanation is every going to satisfy them. That is
why I have really not posted much on this e-list about the Sixth Ward.

Jonathan--sorry, but we didn't get a call and after checking with several
other campaigns yesterday, they didn't get call either!!!!!!! In regard to
whether Kallenbach was in town or out on his birthday, the source you cite
is Martha, a campaign supporter of yours. She was invited to a birthday
party for Kallenbach the Saturday following his birthday not on his
birthday. It wasn't held because Dean didn't want a party. So come up with
proof, not rumor or second-hand information. I can produce witness from
Wisconsin that a party was held at the Kallenbach family restaurant that a
party was held the day of the Forum. The Kallenbach campaign has attended
all three pre-primary Candidates held in the Sixth Ward when adequate and
timely notice was given. He has agreed to attend a Sixth Ward Candidate
Forum on October 25 sponsored by the Southwest Journal. He has attended so
many candidate screenings conducted by different constituency groups that I
can't add them up. Add that he has door-knocked the entire ward once and is
half-way through a second time. Tie that together with working full-time
(except for a five week period before the primary).

Surmise what you wish, Jonathan and others. The Kallenbach campaign will
continue to listen to all people in the Sixth Ward in his campaign, be they
white Europeans, Somali, Hispanic, African Americans, Asian Americans,
low-income, middle income, high-income, renters or homeowners, neighborhood
groups, business owners, etc.

What amazes me in posts about the Sixth Ward race, is the DFL "machine" and
Kallenbach. I can tell you, especially as a former State DFL Party Chair,
that the DFL Party has done very little for the Kallenbach campaign. They
have provided very little volunteers and no financial assistance. The
Sample Ballot and the Endorsement is about it. An endorsement that if
Palmer remembers he said if would abide by--but we know his excuses after
the fact.

What I would like to see from participants on this list is what they think
about Green Party candidate Dean Zimmerman's statements regarding the
re-opening of the saunas/massage parlors along Lake Street as the solution
to prostitutes in our neighborhoods. Something he did at the East Phillips
Improvement Coalition and reiterated to the Stevens Square Community
resident Becky Moyer last week. Or, his "yes, but..." comment at the Sept.
22 rally on Peavy Plaza following the terrorist attack in New York.

Rick Stafford, writing on his on behalf and not speaking for the Kallenbach
campaign officially.
