Jana Metsge asked me to post this on her behalf. This is in response to Wizard Marks statements about Robert Lilligren:
<<Robert Lilligren has said over and over that he knows and supports West Phillips. He does not seem to have a grasp of the issues for the rest of the Eighth Ward and has been tken to task by various Eighth Ward residents for never having been involved in anything outside West Phillips and the Greenway.>> As the former 8 year Executive Director of Central Neighborhood Improvement Association, Robert Lilligren was involved heavily with 4th and Lake revitalization efforts. He participated, volunteering hundreds of hours on this effort dating back to the 1993-1994 proposed Opportunity Zone development by Urban Ventures. He was a regular participant during the Opportunity Zone community meetings back when Kari Kenmotzu was the development committee staff person for CNIA. He consistantly participated with the 4th & Lake Working Group which put together a revitalization vision for 4th & Lake node through Caren Dewar and Midtown Community Works. Robert participated with design review of the 4th Ave. / 29th St. bridge connecting Honeywell to Lake Street. Robert, for the past 3 years, has been heavily and actively involved with the 35W task force and its work groups. Again, when I was the Director at CNIA, Robert participated with the Community Outreach sub-committee which Sarah Hernandez and I facilitated. We put together a community outreach plan for the 35W project. Robert, also, over the past year, has really reached out and met countless individuals in the 8th Ward..he has listened well..and has been received favorably. I think one needs to look at the amount of Lilligren signage in the 8th Ward, to see his new-found support. I believe in Robert and believe that he will be an excellent Councilmember. I wish him the best and believe that he is the best choice for the 8th Ward. Oh and by the way, street gossip is saying that I am to be Robert's new aide if elected. Just for the record...I have a great job and am working as the Exec. Coordinator in Loring Park neighborhood, thoroughly enjoying it. That rumor is news to me, as well as to Robert, I'm sure. This rumor is that alone...a rumor, not true...or for that matter, even thought about. -Jana L.
