In and effort to get the sixth ward race contenders
into a mode of talking about serious and real issues
rather than attacks on each other, I have come up with
a few questions for both Dean's to answer based on
real issues facing the ward as I see them.

A disclaimer here: These are my questions, I wrote
them, I represent only me. Hopefully, others will
appreciate and benefit from your answers.

I know quite a few 6th ward people participate on this
list and answering questions here gives you a better
opportunity to give real detail as opposed to the one
and two minute answers your entitled to in "live"
forums.

With that in mind, I post these questions and hope
that both Dean's will find this list worthy enough to
share your thoughts with.

1. What are your plans for addressing the affordable
housing crisis on a city wide basis. How will the
neighborhoods of the sixth ward be affected by those
plans? What funding will be used to pay for your plan?

2. What is your vision for development in the sixth
ward neighborhoods? How will you ensure these
developments happen? How will you fund them?

3. What are your plans for addressing crime management
in the 6th ward? Specifically, how do you plan to
reduce street level drug dealing and prostitution?

4. Do you support Codefor?

5. What plans do you have to reduce the number of
racial profiling complaints and improving police
resident relations in the ward?

6. Three of the neighborhoods in the sixth ward are
currently involved in zoning and planning hearings
regarding proposed developments in or bordering the
neighborhood. (i.e. Lydia House, PPL/Turning Point)
What is your view regarding the concentration issues
raised by the neighborhood groups with reference to
these projects? How will you deal with project
proposals of this nature once you are in office?

7. Between Whittier, Phillips, and Stevens Square
there are over 10,000 children. Part of the
responsibility of the Youth Coordinating Board is to
coordinate programming and services between the
schools, parks, county, etc. What are your plans to
ensure that the programs and services are reaching 6th
ward youth? How will you fund those plans?

That is enough questions for now. I know both
candidates are busy. Hopefully, they will take the
time to respond.
