Library May Close in 2003 For Expansion

   Franklin Library, the city’s oldest library, will likely close for a major renovation and expansion  in early 2003, according to library officials.

'Resiscovering' Peavey Park
   Hundreds of Residents Involved in Potential Redesign


   The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has approved a conceptual plan to redesign Peavey Park in the near future, with the plan calling for construction of a new “Center for Art, Culture and Community” at the corner of Park and Franklin.

Credit Union Moving to New ATM Building

   The Federal City County Credit Union will move from its current location at Franklin and 11th to new space across the street in the renovated Ancient Traders Market.  FCCCU, with assets of more than $300 million, recently purchased the Wendell Phillips Community Credit Union, a community-based credit union founded in 1996 by local community activists.
