I have a deep conviction about politics not being a career and want opinions on this thought:
Should it be an additional responsibility of our elected officials to be identifying and encouraging leadership within their constituencies to bring new leaders and those that aspire to hold elected office into their world of city/county/state politics and policy? Nothing irritates me more than a two term incumbent asking to be re-elected on the basis that they have more to do; I believe that our entrenched politicians are creating a "ruling class" of people that govern rather than encouraging governance of, by and for the people. Please respond with any and all opinions on term limits, campaign finance reform, proportional representation and the like.
