Folks, let's knock off all the sniping about Ms. Heller's style, etc. It's WAY too personal, a violation of our rules against such things. It doesn't matter if she lives here or not - all have a right to participate...as long as they talk about Minneapolis (and more on that below).
If the merits of her arguments are weak, attack the arguments. If you think her style is too negative or inflammatory, contact her with your concerns OFF-LIST, and/or contact me if you think there is a rules violation. (See rules at http://www.e-democracy.org/mpls). We are not here to get into personal pissing matches. Also - more general comment - I will be cracking down a little more on members whose posts venture from Minneapolis-specific effects into broad, amorphous ideology. That's against our charter as a locally oriented list. Likewise, please keep statewide or nationwide data/topics off the list unless you make a direct link to a Minneapolis-specific (as opposed to could-happen-anywhere) topic. This goes especially for education and affordable housing threads, where the debate has become more philosophical and less applied. We are about applying ideology to Minneapolis (which few other lists are constructed to encourage), not letting Minneapolis become the launching pad for broad ideological discussions that happen many other places on the internet.
