I attended the open city hall following the inauguration and was very impressed to see the openness of the committees and enjoyed very much speaking with the different representatives. I found it very refreshing.
In reference to Carol Becker's post "Inauguration Thoughts" in which she expressed concern over the restaurant promotions, I would not judge RT harshly for encouraging residents to support a Minneapolis restaurant following the inauguration. I think we all support helping our local businesses and I'm sure RT will continue to use his business skills to promote our city. Besides, I doubt any big deals were made over my free cup of tapioca at Sawatdee following my meal and bar tab. Now if RT encourages the council to award Sawatdee with $115 million in subsidies to build a new restaurant on the Nicollet Mall, I will take back this post.
