Putting principle above self-interest is why Mr. Gordon lost the election. It's unlikely that given a second opportunity that Mr. Gordon would fare any differently. However, given second election I might campaign more aggressively for Mr. Gordon, much to his chagrin I imagine, but probably with the same effect.
