Brian, I believe that Scott was referring to Gary's celebrated comment after the election in the Star tribune where he called for unanimous support for Councilmember Ostrow. But then later -- when Ostrow decided he wasn't the most qualified member of the council to be chair of Zoning and Planning -- he switched his allegience to Councilmember Johnson.
Of course he did do the "honorable" thing and make the obligatory motion for unanimous support of the newly elected chair after the election of the chair -- but the record should show that councilmember Schiff did not stand by the Mayor or the agenda for change when the time for rhetoric had passed and the votes were taken.
