Just a couple of notes commenting on your post - I didn't bother to copy the specific parts.

1.  I am the only female on the Commission.  However, not that many females asked to be appointed.  From the GOP and the Independent Party, I was the only one.

2.  When I was interviewed, there were NO designated Green Party individuals.  I do not know the reason for that.  My initial understanding was that the Green Party would be allocated two representatives since they had achieved the 5% requirement for major party status.  Perhaps my facts are wrong, but I did think there would be two representatives.

3.  There were four Independent Party people requesting appointment.  It just so happened that two of us were from the 13th Ward.  My understanding is that the Charter Commission went by qualifications of the individuals.

In making the appointments, the Charter Commission did have criteria they had to follow.  Specifically, they had to appoint two people from each major party.  If the ward alignment turned out the way it did - I wouldn't take that as any slight.

I can tell you from my personal standpoint, I will try to be as fair and impartial as possible as we look at the relignment of the City.  Please feel free to come to our first meeting at Logan Park on 2/20 at 7:00 p.m. to express your concerns.
