I don't like to think of it as a Skyway to Nowhere. Being the glass-half-full (or
is it half there?) kind of guy I am, I see it as a great opportunity for further
national exposure for the theater and the city.

1. Dennis Green's new Irwin Jacob's sponsored fishing show could have a "Carping
off the Cantilever" feature.

2. The ESPN X Games how many power luges, rocket fueled pogo sticks, bmx bikes or
skateboards could be shot from the tunnel into the water.

3. Evel Knievel or his kid taking off the skyway and leaping the Mississippi on a
motorcycle.

4. An amazing frat stunt involving a hanging VW Beetle.

5. If it was reinforced and properly hinged it could double as a waterslide, the
summer time fun accompaniment to the Depot's ice rink.

6. 'Theater Under the Stars' performances of Rapunzel.

The possibilities are there! Think outside the box(es)!!

Also, as a friend aptly pointed out to me, this is hardly a novel concept. For
those of you who have ever veered off the highway outside Madison, WI there is a
little place called House on the Rock. Click on the link and see if anything looks
familiar:

(we'd take offense at the tongue sticking out at us, but given the direction the
theater faces it seems more like the powers that be sticking its tongue out at the
north side).
