I want to second what michael libby says -- I have no problem with one, two or even three stadiums, new or old -- I just don't want to pay for it unless I choose to go see a game. The teams are for profit. Everyone in those businesses makes way more than is healthy for any human being. I don't think that because I work downtown I should pay extra taxes when I go out to eat because they are blackmailing the rest of us. You want a stadium, pay for it and if you need a surcharge, or extra sales tax, do it at the stadium. That said, I would be happy to pay an extra sales tax if it went to the schools. Is anyone listening?
