I was complaining to my council member last night
about Minneapolis's snow emergency policies. "St. Paul
declared a snow emergency already, why hasn't
Minneapolis? That's the problem, it takes Minneapolis
too long to declare the snow emergency." We recalled
Lisa McDonald's complaint during the campaign, "How
can they call it a snow emergency if it takes three
days."

Well, I take it back about St. Paul snow emergencies.
Although St. Paul declared one a day before
Minneapolis, the streets in Mpls I take were much
cleaner and safer than the ones in St. Paul. I take
Hiawatha and Lake in Minneapolis. Lake becomes
Marshall in St. Paul, and it was much snowier, as were
Fairview, Minnehaha, and Snelling, all major routes in
St. Paul. So, I would advise the new mayor and
council, "Don't copy St. Paul when revising the snow
emergency rules."
